Understanding How Payments Work

Buselor is a marketplace and settlement platform designed to make online transactions safer for buyers and sellers.

Payments and settlement processing are facilitated through our licensed financial partner, VFD Microfinance Bank. Buselor provides the marketplace, transaction, delivery, dispute, and settlement infrastructure that connects the parties and coordinates the transaction.

Buselor is not a bank. We do not hold your money. We facilitate secure settlements between buyers and sellers using our licensed banking partner's infrastructure.

Every Transaction Has a Settlement ID

Every Buselor transaction is assigned a unique Settlement ID.

Your Settlement ID allows the transaction to be traced across the payment, order, delivery, confirmation, settlement, refund, and dispute processes. You'll find your Settlement ID on applicable receipts, transaction records, and settlement information.

BUYER

For Buyers

How Your Payment Is Protected

When you purchase an item on Buselor:

  1. You place your order and complete payment.
  2. Your payment enters the protected transaction flow.
  3. The seller prepares your order.
  4. A delivery partner collects the package from the seller.
  5. Your order is delivered to you.
  6. You inspect the package before confirming delivery.
  7. If everything is correct, you provide your Delivery PIN to confirm the order.
  8. Buselor receives the delivery confirmation and the settlement process is triggered automatically.

⚠️ If there is a problem with your order, do not provide your Delivery PIN. The transaction can then enter the dispute process.

The key principle: The seller is not paid through the normal settlement flow until delivery has been confirmed. This is the core of Buselor's Commitment Commerce™ model.

Payment Methods

Bank Transfer

Buselor currently supports bank transfer payments. During checkout, you'll receive the payment instructions required for your order.

When making your transfer:

  • Transfer the exact amount requested.
  • Use the payment reference provided at checkout.
  • Do not reuse an old payment reference for a new order.
  • Keep your transfer receipt until your order is confirmed.

Your payment is automatically matched to your Buselor transaction where possible.

What If My Payment Is Pending?

A payment may remain pending when:

  • Your bank transfer has not yet been confirmed.
  • The payment reference does not match the order.
  • The amount transferred differs from the expected amount.
  • There is a delay in payment confirmation.

What should I do?

  • Confirm that the amount transferred was correct.
  • Check that you used the correct payment reference.
  • Keep your bank transfer receipt.
  • Give the payment system time to confirm the transfer.

⚠️ Never make another payment simply because your first payment appears delayed. Contact support first if you're unsure.

SELLER

For Sellers

When Will I Get Paid?

This is one of the most important questions for sellers.

You are paid after successful delivery confirmation.

The process is:

  1. A buyer places an order.
  2. The transaction enters the protected settlement flow.
  3. You prepare and package the product.
  4. You mark the order as ready where required.
  5. The delivery partner collects the package.
  6. The package is delivered to the buyer.
  7. The buyer inspects the order.
  8. The buyer provides the Delivery PIN if everything is correct.
  9. Buselor receives the delivery confirmation.
  10. The settlement is processed automatically.
  11. Applicable Buselor fees are deducted.
  12. Your net proceeds become available according to your wallet/settlement configuration.
  13. You can withdraw eligible funds to your registered bank account.

Important: Delivery confirmation triggers the settlement process; it does not necessarily mean the money will appear in your external bank account instantly. Banking and withdrawal processing times may vary.

Seller Fees

Buselor currently charges sellers:

1. Transaction Commission

3% of the applicable product transaction amount, capped at ₦50,000 per order.

Example: If the applicable transaction amount is ₦100,000, 3% = ₦3,000. If the applicable amount is sufficiently large that 3% exceeds ₦50,000, the commission is capped at ₦50,000.

Fee deduction: Applicable fees are deducted automatically as part of the settlement process. You don't need to manually pay Buselor's transaction commission after every order.

How Do I Withdraw My Money?

Once funds become eligible for withdrawal in your Available Main Wallet, you can request a withdrawal to your registered bank account.

To withdraw:

  1. Open your Buselor dashboard.
  2. Go to Wallet.
  3. Select Withdraw.
  4. Enter the amount.
  5. Select your withdrawal account.
  6. Review the transaction.
  7. Confirm the withdrawal.

The withdrawal is then submitted for processing.
